JAGUARS TOURNAMENT POLICIES,
PROCEDURES & RULES
Your organization is
cordially invited to participate in the 2008 JAGUARS 16th ANNUAL INVITATIONAL
BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT. This Tournament is by invitation only.
Tournament
information is as follows:
DATES: May 2nd through May 4th, 2008 (Boys 11
through 19)
SITE:
Columbia, Maryland
AGE DIVISIONS: 11 through 19 (we reserve the right not to offer an age division unless a
sufficient number of teams are entered in a respective age division).
NOTE: THERE IS A 12 PLAYER PER TEAM LIMIT.
AGE DETERMINATION DATE: September 1, 2008
BIRTH RECORDS: Each coach
must have in his possession, at the tournament, a copy of each of his players'
birth certificates. Birth certificates will be immediately presented to a
Tournament official on request. Any team found with an ineligible player
will be
disqualified
FEES: Team Entry
Fee: $300.00
Admission Fee: Friday – 9 yrs & older $4.00; 6 – 8 yrs, $3. 00
- Saturday & Sunday – 9 yrs & older $5.00; 6 – 8 yrs, $4.00
- All days - 5 yrs and under, Free.
FORMAT: POOL
PLAY; Two IAABO Officials for each game. The tournament will be conducted under
National High School Federation Rules. The exceptions are as follows:
GAMES PLAY: 11 thru 14
Divisions will play 14 minute halves (ONE ON ONE FILE SHOTS WILL START ON THE 10th FOUL)
15 thru 19 Divisions will play 14 minute halves
The clock will stop on all whistles. (NO RUNNING CLOCK)
Note: There will be
three (3) full time outs per game in all age divisions. An extra time will
be added for the overtime period. Time outs are carried to the overtime
period.
GAME PLAY: In the 19
& Under Division, the clock will be 20 minutes running time. The clock
will stop on shooting fouls, time outs and in last two minutes of the fourth quarter. Overtime will be 3 minutes running
time. Clocks stops on times out and free throws.

CONDUCT: The
conduct of all persons involved in the tournament, including players, coaches,
managers and spectators should be above reproach both on the court and off the
court. Any disorderly disturbances by the above mentioned
persons on the grounds of the facility before, during, or after a game is
undesirable. Violation of the conduct rule will subject an individual to
suspension of two (2) years from future Jaguars Athletic Organization sponsored
events. The Director of the Jaguars Organization determines
reinstatement. Any Player or Coach ejected from a game is disqualified
for the next game.
BENCH RULES:
A team may have on its bench only the players, two coaches and a manager,
listed on the official registration form. Violation of this rule shall
result in only one warning before forfeiture of the game.
PROTEST: Protest
must be made in writing at the completion of the protested game. The
protest must be presented to a Tournament Official at the game site. A
ruling on the protest will be made before the next scheduled game of either
team involved in the
protest.
NOTE: In order to
participate, all players and coaches must be in good standing with the Jaguar
Athletic Organization. A player or coach
may not have any outstanding obligation(s) or disciplinary action(s) pending.
